Primary Job Function
The Microbiology Department within Abbott Nutrition's R&D (Global Analytical and Food Safety) is responsible for conducting microbiological analysis of R&D project samples.
The Associate Scientist candidate is responsible for applying high quality laboratory techniques in the analysis of samples submitted for routine release testing of ingredients, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental monitoring samples. Additionally, support is provided to manufacturing sites for follow up studies, support of process system validation studies, and other requested special projects.
The typical workload will include activities such as lab cleaning, preventive maintenance, media preparation, ordering supplies, pathogen screening tests, plate count tests, and genetic identifications.

This position will be accountable to the laboratory management and department management for outcomes relative to assignments. The individual in this position is expected to organize time and means to accomplish the assigned tasks based on laboratory demands.

The base pay for this position is $45,300.00 – $90,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
