Major League Baseball's Games and VR division, a global front-runner in sports video games and real-time data visualization, is currently seeking a full-time Associate Software Engineer. We design, develop, and manage a portfolio of high-quality products including console and mobile games, real-time data visualization, VR/AR experiences, and more. Our team works with some of baseball's most advanced technologies to reinvent fan experiences for video games, next-gen products, Jewel Events, and activations at ballparks around the world.We are looking for a highly talented and motivated person to help us build great experiences as part of our NYC-based game development department.You will be building games for various target platforms based on the Unity framework. Your primary responsibilities will be to implement game functionality - translating design ideas, concepts, and requirements into a functional and engaging MLB experience. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and a quality product are essential.Responsibilities Implement game functionality as per product designsCommunicate with other team members to establish effective pipelines and integrate media assetsDesign, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable codeEnsure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applicationsIdentify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to address and mitigate these problemsHelp maintain code quality, organization, and automationSkills Excellent knowledge of Unity and C#, including experience with shaders, textures, animation, GUI styles, and user session managementStrong understanding of object-oriented programmingExperience with mobile and console game developmentExperience with game physics and particle systemsExperience optimizing memory and space usage for support of older hardwareExperience with 3D math is a plusPrior experience with a well-known mobile or AAA title is a significant assetAbility to constantly learn and stay in touch with evolving game standards and development technologiesFamiliarity with current design and architectural patternsWrites clean, readable, easily maintainable, and well documented codeProficient knowledge of code versioning tools such as Perforce, Git, SVN, and MercurialExperience implementing automated testing platforms and unit testsExperience with Game Network programming is a plusFamiliarity with baseball, baseball simulations/games, and gaming is a big plusWe truly believe we offer a unique combination of opportunities for any game developer: The opportunity to work with a world-class team of game developers in NYCThe opportunity to work on award-winning and complex apps and systemsThe opportunity to have an influence on the innovation of products used globally by millionsThe opportunity to work in a highly collaborative team environmentAmazing benefits including - 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental and VisionWhy MLB?
