We have an immediate need for an Associate Structural Engineer for our New York City Office.

Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients. LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Metro Park, NJ.

Responsibilities

The Associate Structural Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing various projects as project manager; the technical mentorship of local staff; supporting business development efforts; delivering consistent technical quality, successful project delivery, and client satisfaction.

  • Perform a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks for new and existing structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood/timber buildings and related structures
  • Perform site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and document structural deficiencies
  • Perform condition assessments and load ratings of various structures
  • Supervise and assist in the development of project plans, design calculations, specifications and lead the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services
  • Provide responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects
  • Utilize a broad assortment of technical and project management skills on projects that range from small renovations to large scale new construction
  • Mentor, train, and develop junior engineering staff
  • Support the preparation of technical proposals in the pursuit of new work
  • Attend local industry and business development functions
  • Coordinate staffing needs, project financial performance, and revenue projections as a project manager
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master's Degree a plus
  • 8+ years' minimum experience in Structural Engineering practice
  • NY PE required; SE Licensure a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong mentor-ship skills
  • Ability to supervise, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to technical staff
  • Understanding and application of NYC and NYS code requirements
  • Experience in using various structural analysis software
  • Ability to multitask, work on multi-disciplinary teams, and consistently meet deadlines
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience a plus

  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a positive work environment
  • Compensation: Minimum: $140,000; Maximum: $165,000
  • The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position

Exact compensation will be determined on the individual candidate's qualifications and location.
