ASSOCIATE SUPERINTENDENT FOR BUSINESS SERVICES/CSBO
The Associate Superintendent for Business Services/CSBO is the chief school business official of the district. This person is responsible for the planning, supervision, and administration of finance and business operations related support for the district.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
* Monitors revenues and expenditures of the district.
* Analyzes present economic condition of the district and projects future fiscal requirements.
* Directs the annual budget preparation through coordinated activity involving the Board of Education, administration, and staff. Reviews and evaluates materials to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
* Supervises, through direct action and delegated responsibility, business operations, purchasing, food services, transportation, insurance and benefits, administrative computer services, elections, investments, and related activities.
* Maintains fiscal records and procedures in compliance with Board of Education policy and in conformance with proper accounting and auditing practices.
* Represents the district in dealing with auditors.
* Prepares data and proposals for the administration and Board of Education prior to and during negotiations with employee groups.
* Represents the district at appropriate local, regional, and state meetings and keeps informed about current trends and practices in school business and related areas
* Serves as district treasurer and Wheeling Township Schools Treasurer.
* Serves as the district's Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) privacy compliance officer.
* Collaborates with district and building leadership to ensure equity is infused in practice and remains at the forefront of efforts to disrupt inequities.
* Performs other tasks assigned by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Presently holds State of Illinois Professional Educator License with a General Administrator Endorsement with the Chief School Business Official Endorsement;
* Master's Degree or equivalent graduate training, major in educational administration, business management, accounting, or related discipline.
* Minimum of five years of successful business management experience or project management.
* Advanced skills in business software.
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
* Ability to effectively supervise staff members.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 12-month assignment
SALARY: Adminitrative Salary Schedule Grade Three - $170,633 - $221,823 (to be adjusted for 2025-2026); Plus Excellent Benefits Package
