The ideal candidate will have a robust background in financial statement preparation, significant experience in financial management, and ten years of supervisory experience and/or an MBA. This role involves overseeing the finance office, ensuring effective financial operations, and providing crucial financial support for construction projects, grants, and technology. The successful candidate will bring leadership, analytical expertise, and a strategic mindset to drive financial excellence and support organizational growth. Example of DutiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Oversee the finance office, including financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and accounting functions.Supervise and mentor finance staff, providing guidance and ensuring high performance and professional developmentEnsure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and reports, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and institutional policies.Ensure that financial reports are accurate, complete, and aligned with regulatory requirements and institutional goals.Provide financial oversight and support for construction projects, including budgeting and cost analysis.Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure that financial aspects of construction projects are effectively managed and reported.Develop and implement financial strategies to support institutional objectives and long-term goals.Identify opportunities for financial improvement and efficiency within the institutionWork closely with senior leadership and other departments to provide financial insights and support for institutional initiatives.Foster a collaborative and transparent financial environment within the finance office and across the institution.Supervisory Responsibilities This position has supervisory responsibilities. Typical QualificationsEducation and Experience RequiredBachelor's Degree in Finance and/or accounting5-10 years accounting supervisory experience in higher educationExperience with Ellucian/Colleague or similar ERP system, Microsoft Office, .
