The Asia Group, LLC is now accepting applications for an Associate Vice President (AVP) of Business Development (BD) to join our Washington, DC office.
The Asia Group is a strategic and business advisory firm that supports Fortune 500 corporations with market entry and expansion strategies, stakeholder engagement strategies, and complex conflict resolution initiatives in the Indo-Pacific region. The Asia Group's clients cover a broad range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, energy, financial services, hospitality, pharmaceuticals, transportation, and defense.
The Asia Group is looking for highly motivated candidates for an exciting opportunity to work closely with TAG leadership and contribute to the company's growth in a high-impact, dynamic environment. The AVP will play a key role in building and managing relationships with prospective and existing clients, expanding TAG's footprint, and supporting the company's long-term vision.
Responsibilities Include:
* As an integral part of the BD team, closely collaborate with the corporate governance team to support the company's business development activities.
* Work closely with leadership and senior staff in both DC and in-country offices on strategy development and execution to advance TAG's business development goals.
* Develop and maintain pitch decks, credential decks, case studies, and client presentation materials to support client acquisition and retention efforts.
* Manage and update TAG's CRM database, ensuring data accuracy, timely follow-ups, and effective tracking of business development activities.
* Actively engage TAG members in BD-related developments, fostering alignment and collaboration across the organization. This would include tracking SOW preparation process, proactively coordinating and managing communication on BD initiatives, and providing updates and support to the BD team as needed.
* Oversee case studies and scope of work management, tracking past and ongoing projects to support pitching and client engagement activities.
* Drive coordination of TAG's thought leadership and event participation, managing logistics, schedules, and preparation materials to maximize the company's presence and influence in the market.
* Conduct training sessions for new hires on TAG's business development approach, including best practices for delivering pitches and utilizing BD tools effectively.
* Analyze and report on business development activities, using data insights to inform future strategy and decision-making.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client management.
* Proficiency in CRM platforms such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint); familiarity with other CRM and productivity tools is a plus.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high level of attention to detail.
* Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to managing multiple priorities.
* Understanding of the Asia markets and geopolitical dynamics a plus.
