Compensation Range:

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Leads a comprehensive, university-wide research compliance program that is responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring of, and compliance with, federal regulatory requirements related to research misconduct, responsible conduct of research (RCR), and conflict of interest for faculty and researchers; developing and administering policies relevant to areas of responsibility; and serving as a key resource for the University community with regard to issues related to integrity across the research enterprise.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Leads a comprehensive, university-wide research compliance program that is responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring of, and compliance with, federal regulatory requirements related to research misconduct, responsible conduct of research (RCR), and conflict of interest for faculty and researchers; developing and administering policies relevant to areas of responsibility; and serving as a key resource for the University community with regard to issues related to integrity across the research enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Oversees the creation, development, execution, and maintenance of university-wide policies and procedures on research misconduct, conflict of interest, responsible conduct in research, and research integrity.

* Receives, evaluates, and manages inquiry and/or investigation of allegations of research misconduct.

* Provides vision, guidance, and leadership and serves as the university-wide resource for matters of research misconduct, conflict of interest, responsible conduct in research, and research integrity.

* Develops, promotes, and maintains training and education programs in responsible conduct in research, conflict of interest, research integrity, and other related areas in accordance with external regulations and the University's culture of compliance.

* Serves as the subject-matter expert in the administration of conflict of interest and commitment policies and procedures, including evaluating potential conflicts of interest, developing conflict of interest management plans, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and reporting conflict of interest as mandated by federal sponsors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* A bachelor's degree is required;

* An advanced degree (master's or terminal professional degree) is preferred.

* At least 10 years of experience in higher education, with at least 3 years of experience working in research and/or research compliance (including research misconduct, responsible conduct of research, and conflict of interest) required.

* A current and in-depth understanding of the regulatory environment governing academic research required.

* The ability to work with diverse constituents required.

* Experience convening and coordinating committees and working groups required.

* Excellent communication and organizational skills, with close attention to details required
