Salary plus $10,000 stipend - 207 days
Bachelor's degree in related field including specified courses directly related to sports medicine/athletic training. Texas State licensure and NATABOC preferred. Current CPR/AED certification. One (1) year of Athletic Training experience.
Attend athletic events and practices and assist the Head Athletic Trainer to provide an athletic training program for athletic team participants, including, but not limited to, prevention, care, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Oversee and help manage Athletic Training Student Program. Evaluate, refer and treat athletic injuries and maintain records of all injuries/related documentation. Attend athletic events and practices; supervise the operation of assigned training room/s and equipment. Help to develop/evaluate student trainers; establish emergency injury procedures followed by coaches or athletic trainers. Communicate with parents, physicians, other athletic trainers and coaches regarding injured athletes. Determine if/when an injured athlete can return to practice or re-enter games after injuries.
