Position Summary

Perform a variety of clerical and patient centered tasks to assist in the imaging department.

Minimum Requirements

* High School Graduate or equivalent

Experience

* Entry level patient care, Customer Service

License/Registration/Certifications

* BLS Certification

Core Job Responsibilities

* Perform a variety of patient oriented tasks to assist in the imaging department

* Assist in transport of patients to and from the imaging department

* Assist with clerical duties in the imaging department to include answering the phone, patient pre/post phone calls, obtaining CD's for medical records and/or patients, coordination of imaging procedures with other departments, requesting medical records from other institutions, etc.

* Positively responds and implements change when needed and has good decision making skills.

* Assists technologists with quality control and maintenance of all equipment in the area

* Properly utilize accessory equipment such as patient moving devices, stretchers, warmers, scanners, printers, and PACS workstations

* Assist technologist with preparation of patients for procedures

* Assist patients in/out and on/off of the imaging equipment using correct moving devices and equipment

* Report changes in patient condition to medical staff.

* Assists in training of new staff

* Follows, maintains and helps implement hospital and departmental policies and procedures

* Consistently communicates with patients, guests, staff and physicians in a positive manner

* Knowledgeable of compliance and regulatory requirements and adheres to Federal, State, accrediting bodies, and standard practice of care for patients, staff, guests and facilities

* Adheres to departmental procedures and protocols

* Rotating schedules for after hours and holidays where applicable

* Assist with correct charging of procedures and supplies daily

* Helps to maintain departmental inventory of supplies

* Helps to maintain departmental cleanliness

* Works as a team member with peers and other departments. Responds calmly and efficiently to situations.

* Regularly attend departmental meeting, in-services and actively participate in continuing education activities

* Other duties as requested by supervisor or manager
