JOB SUMMARY
Assists the Controller in managing financial accounting and reporting activities of the District, establishing sound accounting policies and procedures for effectively administering the various funds and accounts of the District, and analyzing financial data. Supervises specific departments
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Oversees and coordinates annual procedures and processes for year-end close, the annual financial audit, and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
2. Directs the accounting and reporting activities of Accounts Payable, Internal Service Funds, Ficuciary Funds and Fixed Assets.
3. Directs Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) activities including ERP user access, risk monitoring and mitigaton, and annual user certification
4. Ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger in compliance with district policies and regulations as well as state and federal laws and regulations. Ensures that financial activities and reports are in compliance with GAAP and GASB requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED
5. Develops and prepares special reports and analyses for internal and external customers that are confidential or highly technical. Consults with district administrators on financial and accounting matters. Recommends training for district personnel on finance policies and procedures.
6. Evaluates accounting systems and processes in order to recommend upgrades, improve efficiencies, and improve internal controls to ensure the safe-guarding of the District's assets.
7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Senior Management. Manages a department or multiple major disciplines, often through subordinate management.
