Greenwich House is currently seeking an Associate Director of Marketing and Communications to join our small but mighty Marketing and Communications team. As the Associate Director, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our brand and programs. The right candidate is a tech-savvy, digital-first, self-starter with a passion for non-profit organizations. Responsibilities
- The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Director of MarComm, and Greenwich House, by contributing to the development and implementation of an integrated marketing strategy that programs the GH brand and its programs;
- Promote Greenwich House's mission, brand and voice through clear and compelling messaging that aligns with institutional goals;
- Conduct market research and analyze data to inform marketing strategies and tactics;
- Collaborate with the Development team on communications for fundraising appeals, collateral and events;
- Produce and implement omni-channel DTC marketing campaigns from start to finish;
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and innovations to continually improve marketing strategies and tactics;
- Assist the Director in managing the website (Wordpress);
- Continuously seek new and innovative ways to promote books and authors to reach wider audiences;
- Submit news and events to community partner and business organizations, as needed;
- Produce weekly reports to track and analyze performance on marketing initiatives, using data to make informed decisions and adjustments, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing ROI;
- Drive Greenwich House's social presence and engage constituents (current students/members, donors, prospective students, parents, employees, partners) on Greenwich House's official social media channels;
- Develop copy for Greenwich Houses digital and print publications;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and programs, to develop effective communication strategies and ensure brand consistency;
- Supervise one employee and/or intern.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience as a digital content/marketing professional, with a deep focus on upper-funnel brand marketing;
- Experience working across the full DTC marketing funnel (customer acquisition, conversion and engagement) and across the marketing mix including online and offline channels;
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate quantitative and qualitative data and insights into a better customer experience;
- Experience with audience-level segmentation and marketing strategies;
- Keen understanding of the AIDA marketing model and supporting strategies;
- Excellent communication skills, including oral and written with sensitivity to audience, tone, and nuance;
- Demonstrated success in crafting effective marketing copy for major donor communications and marketing pieces to promote capital campaigns, special events, etc.;
- Demonstrated success in conceiving, developing and implementing omnichannel marketing and communications campaigns, preferably for arts programs and services (i.e., Music and Pottery classes);
- Significant competency in social media strategy and management with a passion for this specific line of work;
- Knowledge about new media and the ability to brainstorm innovative ideas to engage existing and new constituents;
- Ability to manage priorities, as well as function independently and as an integral team player;
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize;
- Ability to be flexible to changing priorities and be collaborative, as well as team focused;
- Solid understanding of how to track, measure, and report on campaign performance and effectiveness;
- Demonstrated success in developing search-optimized content for web, including web landing pages, digital ads, and blog articles;
- Demonstrated success in managing email marketing campaigns, and writing effective email copy;
- Solid understanding of photography, video and graphic design skills (Adobe Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or Lightroom, Premiere Pro);
- Digital Marketing, Content Management and Social Media Management tools experience: Google Analytics, Mailchimp, One-Up, Meta Business Manager, and others as fitting to accomplish the tasks of engaging with Greenwich House's constituents;
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English or a related field;
- Evening and weekend hours may be required;
- Occasional travel required.
