Job SummaryThe Assistant General Manager is responsible for the service and experience of the operation. Motivates, trains, develops and directs team members to deliver exceptional service and accomplish daily goals and projects. This position oversees the administrative and operational tasks, including financial management and analysis, sanitation and safety.
The Assistant General Manager will focus on hospitality and the cafe experience for the Google Food program in order to support operational excellence. This position reports into the General Manager and will leverage their strong communication, hospitality and operational skills to partner with key stakeholders to promote standards, expectations and enhance user (partner) experience.
This position is based in Seattle, WA
The great things you will be expected to do:Multi-unit oversight with at least 2 locations and 60 associates. Annual budget of ~$25mm.
Designs, manages and owns the overall experience, not just the offerings
Sets an expectation of hospitality that is friendly and engaging
Has a Passion for quality food preparation and taste.
Trains and develops the management team
Assists the GM to ensure manager reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions are delivered in a professional and timely manner
Works with GM to monitor and manage all financial responsibilities
Ensures all sector and Compass employee guidelines are implemented and adhered to
Promotes a culture of Food and Workplace Safety
Treats everyone with professionalism, care and respect.
Responds to all comments and complaints within 24 hours and follows up witha written or verbal response with copies to the DM and our partner.
Communicates with our partner honestly, accurately and in a timely manner.
Works with GM or RDM to ensure cafe teams work within budget while maintaining standards
Oversees and contributes to the successful opening of all new Cafs.
Meets all timelines for quarter and year-end reports given by our partner and Sector Employer
Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience
Has a minimum of 2-4 years food service multi unit supervision experience
Preferred experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations
Multiple unit management & high volume experience is preferred.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Creativity and innovation are a must!
Project management skills with previous new business development is preferred
Ability to create and execute new systems, processes and procedures
Financial acumen and proven track record of successful operations in previous roles
Strong passion for great food and hospitality
Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines
Ability to follow all Health & safety standards
Demonstrates good judgment and decision making skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Google Suites
Ability to maintain confidentiality
ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred
