Position Summary:About Adams State University Adams State is a state -supported primarily undergraduate institution in the San Luis Valley, a rural and agricultural area of south-central Colorado, approximately 3.5 hours from Denver and 2.5 hours from Santa Fe, New Mexico. The University is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution and as a regional education provider. Adams State University is an NCAA Division II member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Adams State University sponsors 20 competitive intercollegiate sports teams. To learn more about Adams State University Athletics, visit Position Summary:The Interns for the Department of Athletics will assist in many duties and day to day functions and responsibilities of running an athletic department.Responsibilities:The position will play an integral role in the coordination and strategic development, implementation, and activation of comprehensive marketing and ticket sales plans, assistance with sponsorship implementation, social media, fan engagement, and organizational branding outreach within the Athletic Department at Adams State University.This position will assist the Business Manager in the day to day operations of the departmentAssist with Ticketing processes and game day experienceAssist with Compliance department Assist in all aspects of planning, setup, execution and post-event operationsAssist with all Grizzly Club Related functionsInterns will hold office hours and be an integral part of this departmentInterns will communicate sport specific project or updates and potential promotional eventsInterns will assist with travel arrangements and other fiscal functionsLead marketing for the departmentBe in attendance at home events (including weekends)Other duties as assignedSalary: $5,000. Position is a 10-month at will appointment.   • Ability to perform the requirements of the position
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities and excellent communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to strict adherence to NCAA, RMAC, university and department rules and regulations as well as a solid commitment to student achievement in academics.
  • The successful candidate will be a person of high ethical standards and show initiative and integrity to make important independent decisions
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies in a global environment
  • Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegiality with employees, students, and the community. This includes the ability to use appropriate conflict management skills to effectively manage any disagreement that might arise or to bring the disagreement to management for assistance in productive resolution when the situation requires.
