Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Position Summary
THIS IS A CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT THAT WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL ALL POSITIONS ARE FILLED OR CLOSING DATE OCCURS
This position is a part-time staff position providing service to UNC Campus Recreation. The Athletic Trainer is expected to provide athletic training services for participants in UNC Campus Recreation activities, specifically Sport Club events.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of health care experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of North Carolina.Optional Level Guidelines: 'Contributing level - High school diploma or equivalency, one year of health care experience, and one year of on-the-job training in the administration of physical therapy treatments; or High school diploma or equivalency and two years of on-the-job training in physical therapy.' Journey level - Completion of an approved two-year school for Physical Therapy Assistants and two years of experience in the area of specialty; or High school diploma or equivalency and three years of on-the-job training in the administration of physical therapy treatments including instruction in anatomy, physiology and skeletal biomechanics; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
The minimum level of formal education necessary to perform the duties of the athletic trainer is the Bachelor's Degree with NATA Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer will be bound by the Athletic Trainer Licensure Act (G.S. 90-525, 528).
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
This job requires the usual involvement and commitment for athletic trainers. We require that the person in this job be available for weekend, night, and holiday coverage.
