The incumbent performs various athletic training and athletic administration functions. The incumbent works with other members of the Athletic Department in meeting goals and objectives in support of the Hatboro-Horsham School District athletic department mission.Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) must be registered with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, BOC certified and possess state athletic training licensure, certification or registration. NPI number required.
  • The ATC is responsible for the prevention, recognition, assessment, treatment, evaluation and immediate care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and serves as a liaison between the coaches, physicians, student athletes and parents.
  • Develops and implements procedures for reporting all athletic injuries and for handling related problems that stem from such injuries in accordance with local policies and regulations.
  • Establish working relationship with a designated team physician and community physician.
  • Provides various services and reports to include injury reports and physician notes, handling phone communication and monitoring the cleanliness and keeping the athletic training facility neat and orderly.
  • The ATC ensures athletic training coverage for practices and competitive events.
  • Assist coaching staff in evaluating and implementing sport specific conditioning programs and methods.
  • Manages the budget, inventory, and maintenance of athletic training supplies.
  • Compiles, maintains, and tracks all student athlete medical forms and student physical forms in compliance with PIAA, HIPAA, FERPA and HHSD.
  • Develops comprehensive venue and condition specific emergency action plans and distributes to staff.
  • Oversees and administers concussion education, baseline impact testing and return to play protocols.
  • Provides educational sessions for athletes on health-related injuries as needed.
