The Athletic Trainer will provide clinical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of all musculoskeletal and sports related injuries. While working under the direction of the supervising physician in compliance with state regulations. Position Responsibilities:
  • Assesses patients to determine modifications of therapy and treatment needs in consultation with physician or physical therapist.
  • Develops exercise programs that appropriately addresses patient's short and long term goals.
  • Demonstrate and help patients execute prescribed therapeutic exercises per physician protocols or physical therapist directions.
  • Monitors patient's response to treatment.
  • Educates patients regarding exercise program, health needs, and risks.
  • Coordinates care with other patient care providers as appropriate.
  • Completes appropriate documentation including reports, treatments, intake forms, message logs etc.
  • Cleans, maintains, and inspects exercise equipment. Reports repair and maintenance needs.
  • Actively engages in marketing and community educational programs.
  • Provides Certified Athletic Trainer services as assigned: Work closely with physician to facilitate post-operative care and injury treatment/rehabilitation.
  • Educate patients on injuries, diagnosis and post-operative care and attend to patient questions/messages for physician.
  • Perform the following duties for patients: Casting, Splinting, Brace fitting, wound care and bandaging, Takes vitals, draws up medications, performs testing for illnesses such as flu, strep etc.
  • Assist with procedures and concussion treatments.
Requirements *Flexible Schedule Required*
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from an accredited university athletic training program.
  • Current Colorado Athletic Trainer Licensure and Board of Certification (BOC) required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience working with regular fitness clients or Athletes and one (1) year of clinical experience. Must have training focusing on injury prevention and risk management, physiology and anatomy, medical conditions and disabilities, pathology of illnesses and injuries, nutritional aspects of diseases and injuries and therapeutic modalities.
  • BLS certification required upon hire.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sports injuries and treatment options, first-aid treatments, massage, and physical rehabilitation techniques and equipment.
  • Assisting and monitoring injured clients as they heal and progress towards recovery.
  • Mobility, strength, visual and auditory acuity adequate for immediate response to athletes' needs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Good driving record and excellent driving skills required.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, effectively communicate and work independently.
