GENERAL SUMMARY
Provides athletic training services to an assigned secondary school, to include on-the-field evaluation, first aid, and reconditioning/rehabilitation under the supervision of the Team Physician. Maintain accurate record keeping of all athletic episodes including a patient tracking and injury-tracking registry. Development of the high school training room and ordering of medical supplies and appropriate equipment. Provide both in-season and out-of-season conditioning programs for injury prevention. Development of student training program. Function as a liaison and facilitator for referring athletes to ARMC. Function as a liaison between the athletes, parents and coaches and ARMC. Perform duties in the clinic as designated during off-season of high school program. Function as a liaison and facilitator for referring athletes to ACMC and/or other healthcare organizations or providers as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
* Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Graduate of a baccalaureate program in athletic training, health, physical education, or exercise science. Ability to function in nontraditional settings. ARC/AHA CPR Instructor.
* Required Length and Type of Experience
* One year in a clinical setting and/or 3-5 years of athletic training experience, preferably in health care.
* Required Licensure or Certification
* Current licensure through OT/PT/ATC board for practice of athletic training in the State of Ohio. Certification as an Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association. Teaching certification from the State of Ohio.
* Required Physical and Environmental Demands
* OSHA Requirements: All employees are required to know and demonstrate competency in all OSHA requirements for the position such as the use of personal protective barrier equipment, safety equipment and procedures, handling of hazardous materials, etc. Physical Requirements:Strength, agility, and stamina to work with patients (and Students) including lifting, transferring, and providing manually resisted exercises. Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) Considerations: All employees are required to be aware of all MSDS considerations for this position which identifies all items in their particular area that fall into this category. Each employee will be educated regarding the location of their department's MSDS manual.
