Title: Athletic Trainer

Qualifications:
* North Carolina Teacher Licensure or eligible for certification
* Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training
* BOC Certification & NC Licensure
* Related Athletic Training Experience preferred
Supervises: Assistant Athletic Trainer, Athletic Training, Sports Medicine Assistants, injured athletes, and athletes on rehabilitation.
Job Goal: To provide care and prevention of athletic injuries including the therapeutic rehabilitation for the least loss of competitive time, while keeping the mental physical welfare of the athlete as the top priority.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Must have a thorough knowledge of all athletic policy, rules and regulations as approved by the Hoke County Board of Education, the North Carolina Hight School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) and the National Federation of State School Associations and will implement these in a fair and consistent manner.
2. Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all student and parent requests or grievances through the proper channels.

4. Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation within the school sports program.
5. Shall not be permitted to coach or assist in coaching of any sports while serving as an Athletic Trainer. Administrative
Duties:
* Maintain a schedule for supplying services to all athletic teams and student-athletes.
* Coordinate with Head Coaches to provide proper services for traveling teams and to make sure they have a medicine kit with proper supplies.
* Hold the Head Coaches responsible for the medical supplies he/she is assigned
* Generate adequate records for documentation of injuries, insurance, medical notations, and rehabilitation of athletes.
* Check the Head Coach of each team for emergency information cards on each athlete of his/her team.
* Supply the documentation for weight certification/clearance of all wrestlers.
* Maintain and enforce rules of behavior in the Athletic Training Facilities.
* Record on the proper forms the data required on all injuries and produce an annual report on all injuries organized by sport in which the injury occurred.
* Should gather the parental information needed to complete all insurance forms. Request for this information should be documented and signed by the student.
* Maintain copies of all insurance information provided to students, parents, and insurance companies. Should maintain a current inventory of all Athletic Training Facility supplies and equipment.
* Place a school ID number on all training room equipment, record this number and description or equipment on the proper school inventory form.
* Ensure all purchases with school purchase orders signed by the Athletic Director and Principal.
* Maintain a record of all monies spent and keep expenses within the budget assigned to the Athletic Training Department.
* Provide a written description of the duties of a Sports Medicine Student Assistant. Make sure each Student Assistant has a copy and understands their limitations.
* Provide to each Head Coach written guidelines for coaches to follow when an athlete is injured.
