Job Description:

Wiley University is currently seeking an Athletic Trainer, Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations, this position will administer the evaluation and treatment of sport related injuries. This is a day-to-day position, and will provide athletic training services for all student-athletes within the Athletics Department. The Athletics Trainer assists with customized individual training programs and the prevention and care of sports related injuries. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Represent Wiley College Athletics in a positive manner with a high degree of integrity.

* Promote and support Wiley College and the Athletic Department's program mission and goals.

* Provide leadership in the planning and operation of the Athletic Training program.

* Administer the program within the policies of Wiley College, RRAC, and the NAIA.

* Coordinate documentation, filing, and maintenance of student athlete's medical records.

* Organize and facilitate all daily operations related to Athletic Training (including insurance).

* Adhere to operating and equipment budgets as established by the Athletic Department.

* Establish relations with coaches, players, administrators, local medical personnel and the public.

* Select student assistants in cooperation with the Physical Education department and the Director of Athletics.

* Delegate and supervise volunteer assistants and student trainers.

* Assist in promotion and public relations activities for the Wiley College Athletic Department.

* Enforce discipline and courtesy with the use of Wiley College training facilities.

* Evaluate and review the program and recommend changes to the Director of Athletics.

* Assist in monitoring strength and conditioning activities for the department.

* Other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Retention.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field. NATA certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Athletic training, Kinesiology or related field. Knowledge of and commitment to NAIA / NCAA rules.
