This Athletic Trainer works in daily training room operations with sports practices and competitions. This is a full-time tenure-track faculty position.

Responsibilities

* Evaluate and manage athletic injuries.

* Aid in the prevention of athletic injuries.

* Conduct health screenings and evaluation of student-athletes.

* Assist with the administration of insurance claims.

* Supervise work-study students assigned.

* Maintain training records and related documents.

* Assist with the maintenance of inventory.

* Administer appropriate coverage for practices and competition.

* Act as liaison between medical staff and head coaches

* Attend department meetings and execute follow-ups as necessary

* Support the university's Zero Tolerance policy and educational programs for student-athlete welfare

* Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Athletic Administration.

Education, Training, and/or Experience:

Minimum of a bachelor's degree required. NATA certification as an athletic trainer is required. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Pennsylvania; must have current CPR/AED and first aid certification.

* Highly proficient with Computer Skills (Microsoft Word Suite and other related software)

* Ability to make recommendations to the area that will enhance, correct, or streamline program operational activities.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are in an office/gym environment generally free from hazards, well-lit, and ventilated. This is a non-exempt position that may require occasionally working beyond the normally scheduled workweek, modifying existing work schedules, or flexing hours to meet University needs.
