Job Title: Athletic TrainerJob Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled athletic trainer to join our team. The athletic trainer will work closely with athletes and other healthcare professionals to prevent and treat injuries, ensuring athletes' physical well-being and improving their performance. This role is essential for providing on-site medical care during practices, games, and training sessions.Key Responsibilities:
- Injury Prevention: Monitor athletes' physical condition to prevent injuries and implement injury prevention programs.
- Emergency Care: Provide immediate medical attention and first aid for injuries occurring during practices or competitions.
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Evaluate injuries by conducting physical assessments and using diagnostic tools to identify conditions and their severity.
- Treatment: Develop and implement treatment plans, including rehabilitation exercises, stretches, and strength-building programs to assist athletes in recovering from injuries.
- Rehabilitation: Design and supervise rehabilitation programs for injured athletes, ensuring safe and effective recovery.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on injuries, treatments, and progress of athletes' recovery.
- Collaboration: Work with physicians, coaches, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach to athletes' health.
- Education: Educate athletes, coaches, and staff on injury prevention, nutrition, and wellness practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
- Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and injury management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with athletes, coaches, and medical staff.
- Ability to make quick decisions and respond to emergency situations.
- Physical stamina to manage the demands of the job, including standing for long periods and lifting equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a sports setting or with specific teams or athletic programs.
- Experience with physical therapy or rehabilitation.
Work Environment:
- Primarily on-site at athletic facilities, fields, or gyms.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and during travel for competitions.
