111584 Job Description *Overview**You may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.* Join our team as a full-time Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer in Pocatello, ID. *Thrive in a People-First Environment and Make Healthcare Better* * Thrive: We empower our team with career growth opportunities, tuition assistance, and resources that support your wellness, education, and financial well-being.* People-First: We prioritize your well-being with paid time off, comprehensive health benefits, and a supportive, inclusive culture where you are valued and cared for.* Make Healthcare Better: We use advanced technology to support our team and enhance patient care.*Get to Know Your Team:* * Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma and tertiary care center and home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group and Portneuf Air Rescue. *Responsibilities** Manage and provide for care of injuries to affiliated school district student-athletes, including the assessment, management, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning, render emergency care, when necessary, and assist in the development of injury prevention programs. * Athletic trainers will also be required to assist in the provision of sports medicine care at sponsored outreach sports medicine care at various community events throughout the year, as assigned by the Outreach Sports Medicine Program Director. Such events include (but are not limited to) youth football, youth soccer, cycling and triathlon, high school rodeo, baseball, basketball, track and field, and skiing/snowboarding).* Manage and provide for care of injuries to affiliated school district student-athletes, including the assessment, management, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning, render emergency care, when necessary, and assist in the development of injury prevention programs. * Assist in the provision of sports medicine care at sponsored outreach sports medicine care at various community events throughout the year, as assigned by the Outreach Sports Medicine Program Director. Following injury/illness, determine and individual's readiness to participate in athletics and other extracurricular physical activity. Work with coaches to help design and coordinate injury prevention strenth and agility training program during the off-season. Develop and implement a comprehensive emergency action plan.* Coordinate school's concussion-testing program (baseline and post-concussion).
