Job Description:
Position Summary/Essential Duties : Supports athletes and athletic programs by providing comprehensive fitness, nutrition, injury care and conditioning programs. Essential duties include:
  • Performs athlete evaluation on/off the field; provides immediate care as needed and/or develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to the athlete's needs.
  • Selects and competently uses a variety of appropriate treatment techniques.
  • Educates athlete/family in applicable treatment and prevention.
  • Regularly uses and keeps up-to-date documentation via UH preferred injury tracking software,
Performs other activities such as, but not limited to assisting Athletic Director in ordering supplies and keeping current inventories, billing, etc.Required For All Jobs
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor degree in Sports Medicine or other related program Required Credentials, License, and / or Certifications: Board of Certification (BOC) - Certified Licensed by OTPTAT Board to practice athletic training in the State of Ohio . Experience & Knowledge: Minimum 1 year experience as an ATC preferred - specific experience with general principles of injury prevention and first aid required Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge: Must be physically and cognitively able to provide care and to be able to assist in moving people and/or equipment. This role encounters Protected Health Information (PHI) as part of regular responsibilities. UH employees must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain PHI for our patients.
