Location: Ogden,UT, USA
Mentors work with individually assigned persons who are freshmen or those who are deemed at risk in some academic areas. May need to instruct on test taking tips, note taking skills, calendaring and time management, and other academically-related skills necessary for student success. Able to work one-on-one, instruct, act professionally, and feel confident in the skills they are teaching. Able to work well with individuals from all walks of life, varying life skills and abilities, differing languages, and backgrounds.
This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications
H.S. diploma or GED.
Word processing, basic computer and typing skills. Email.
Preferred Qualifications
Intermediate to high levels of computer skills: spreadsheets, databases, internet. Personable. Flexible.
Mentors should be available mid-day and/or evenings to work around student schedules.
