Athletics - Head Women's Acrobatics and Tumbling Coach

Summary:

Under general supervision, the Head Acrobatics & Tumbling Coach will develop a premier womens acrobatics & tumbling program that aligns with the institutions mission and values. This role involves leading, teaching, recruiting, and graduating a diverse group of high-character women who exemplify respect, sportsmanship, service, hard work, and determination. The coach will ensure that the program competes at a high level both on the field and in the classroom, prioritizing student-athlete welfare and experience in all decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the instruction of student-athletes in acrobatics & tumbling training and competition.
  • Recruit high-character student-athletes for the program.
  • Instruct effective coaching methods and strategies.
  • Make scholarship recommendations.
  • Schedule practices and competitions.
  • Manage travel logistics, including hotel reservations and meals.
  • Communicate competition schedules for transportation arrangements.
  • Transport and supervise student-athletes during travel.
  • Train and supervise assistant coaches.
  • Engage in campus events, organizations, and committees as assigned.
  • Monitor the sport budget to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Operate the program in compliance with University, NCAA, and ECC regulations.
  • Provide timely materials to the athletic communications office.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Athletics and Planning.
  • Availability for evening and weekend hours, as well as travel.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of coaching and teaching techniques.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive for university business.
  • Current certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid; annual Blood Borne Pathogen training.
  • Bachelors degree in a related field or high school diploma with significant amateur or professional experience.
  • At least three years of coaching experience at the college level or five years of competitive experience in acrobatics & tumbling.
  • Knowledge of effective recruiting techniques.

Pay: $45,000 - $48,000 Annually
