Role OverviewA MacPherson's Picking Supervisor plays a critical role in the success of MacPherson's as front-line leader by providing hands-on leadership, training, and monitoring of the team. The Picking Supervisor actively participates in the handling of all customer products in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. The Picking Supervisor will work closely with their team to ensure all the work behind the scenes is done safely, successfully, and efficiently.This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Occasionally will require mandatory Saturday work hours according to the needs of the business. The starting wage is $21.85 per hour, plus an additional $.75 shift differential, and 14 days paid vacation in the first year.A $500 sign-on bonus is available and will be paid out in two payments. The first $250 will be paid in the first paycheck after the employee's first 30 days of employment. The second $250 will be paid in the first paycheck after the 90th day of employment. Job Description:
  • Candidate will be the Picking Supervisor for approximately 20+ associates in multiple departments that includes: Picking, Receiving, Replenishment, Janitorial, and Shipping.
  • Pick items by voice picking or RF scanning bin locations in order to assemble customer orders.
  • Ensure all orders are complete and quality controlled before being sent to the Packing Stations.
  • Ensure all boxes and cartons are packed to minimize and reduce damage during transportation from the Distribution Center to the customer.
  • Coordinate with other Outbound teams (Pallet Picking and Shipping) to clear up missed picks.
  • Monitor each zone and allocate employees to them based on the order flows.
  • Assist with monitoring the Pick Pass Reports frequently to ensure all Priority Orders are completed before the end of each shift.
  • Be able to follow-up and coach employees directly on any errors identified before sending to the Packing Stations.
  • Assist with the updating of the productivity of the Team on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for completing quality checks to ensure all items are available and present in each order as specified.
  • Assist with the training of new hires and/or temporary employees during peak seasons as required from time to time.
  • Cross-train and gain certifications in all Departments. Be flexible and adaptable to float in other areas of the distribution center
  • Communicate with other shifts to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Adhere to and enforce all policies and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to pick when necessary and perform various warehousing duties from time to time
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a Distribution/Warehouse environment.
  • Strong computer/applications knowledge and experience, such as WMS, RF scanning, and voice picking.
  • Must have good excel skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all members of the team as well as senior members of management.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Strong organizational skills.
The Good FitSkills we are looking for:
  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with Scale WMS is preferred.
  • Prior experience with eCommerce is preferred.
  • To be punctual, team oriented, committed to safety, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to meet productivity, quality, safety, and attendance requirements. (including overtime as required)
