September 27, 2024 12:00-3:00 pm EDT via Zoom Zoom Link: About ATLAS FFT: Atlas FFT works to prevent violence by meeting people during a crisis, like a recent arrest or open court case and connecting them to a change process that nurtures hope and strengthens relationships. As part of Atlas, we are offering FFT to young people at elevated risk for violence in the community, victimization, or a re-arrest. FFT is an evidence-based intervention for youth and families. This high-quality, strength-focused family counseling model is designed for high-risk youth and young adults who have been referred by the criminal court, juvenile justice, mental health, school, or child welfare systems. Services are short-term and typically offered in the home, though services can be offered in the office or other community settings. About ATLAS HOPE: Atlas HOPE (AH) aims to add to the existing community violence intervention and prevention strategies in New York City by creating a continuum of care for adult men most likely to engage in serious community violence and least likely to receive the supportive services necessary to end cycles of trauma and violence. The AH program aims to meet the economic, emotional, and mental health needs of adult men, ages 25 and older who have had a history of trauma, lived experience with violence, and involvement in the criminal legal system by providing outreach, transitional employment, behavioral health supports delivered primarily through CBI, and coaching and case management. Transformation Coach (Atlas HOPE): Transformation Coaches are responsible for facilitating cognitive behavioral therapy groups and adhering to the curriculum, program model, philosophies, approaches, manuals, and policies. Transformation Coaches also provide individual coaching, personal development, and supportive case management to participants through a trauma-informed and restorative justice lens while working collaboratively with the outreach partner staff. Transformation Coaches will be excellent problem solvers, comfortable with conflict and facilitating conflict resolution interventions, energetic and flexible, collaborative, and proactive team members who positively and productively support high-risk participants. Transformation Coaches empower participants to fulfill employment and life goals. Through the facilitation of cognitive behavioral intervention, coaches teach soft skills required to overcome obstacles and further develop soft skills. The position requires excellent group facilitation skills, extensive understanding of workforce development, and knowledge of the local ecosystem of support services in the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate cognitive-behavioral group sessions;
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 15 participants, serving as their advocate and providing case management;
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one coaching sessions, developing individualized plans for participants;
  • Review daily feedback and performance reports, identify barriers to participant success in the program, and provide coaching and support to promote attendance, safe behavior, and effective participation in group sessions and transitional employment;
  • Participate in collaborative meetings to assess participant progress and plan services;
  • Facilitate transitional job orientations;
  • Visit participant work sites to understand behaviors in various settings;
  • Assess career interests and aptitudes, guiding participants toward suitable employment and training opportunities;
  • Lead job readiness activities, including soft skills training, resume preparation, and job search techniques;
  • Act as an intermediary between workers and employers to resolve workplace issues and promote retention
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation of all services;
  • Participate in regular, ongoing professional development opportunities including: trainings, facilitation practice, and receiving ongoing coaching and feedback;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree from and accredited college or university in social work, psychology, counseling, human services or education preferred;
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience training, counseling, providing workforce development services, or instruction;
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred;
  • Experience with job readiness and/or cognitive behavioral curricula facilitation including Thinking for a Change, OWDS, ART (Aggression Replacement Training), or similar preferable;
  • Skilled communicator who is able to liaise interdepartmentally as well as with community partners and stakeholders;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, Outlook and Office 365;
  • Familiarity with the Fair Chance Act a plus;
  • Ability to apply skills learned from prior work experience, or formal academic training in a related subject area, to the day-to-day project activities; and
  • Demonstrated success in being participant-centered, self-motivated with excellent relationship skills.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team;
  • Experience working with the community in the South Bronx, a plus;
  • Experience and/or desire to work with a culturally diverse population; and

Salary: $55,000 to $58,600 Travel Requirements: Travel throughout the New York City is required Family Engagement Specialist (Atlas HOPE): Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Manager, the Family Engagement Specialist is responsible for connecting family members of Atlas HOPE participants to needed resources and services. This role involves frequent, direct contact with families, developing support plans, and practicing trauma-informed care. Strategies include psycho-education and support to participants and their families on various topics through workshops, group activities, case management, and linkage referrals. The position requires a firm knowledge base of accessible, trauma-informed, culturally relevant resources proven to support individuals experiencing complex trauma caused by prolonged exposure to poverty, crime, and victimization. They will facilitate this by attending and/or tabling at offsite community events to connect to external resource partners, visiting programs to determine they suit the needs of the family members being referred and creating a resource manual in order to refer individuals as needed to the appropriate service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Connect families/households of Atlas HOPE participants to resources and services, providing support and guidance through consistent outreach
  • Provide training and mentoring to staff on family engagement, trauma-informed care, and case management.
  • Practice trauma-informed care principles to ensure families receive compassionate and effective support.
  • Connect participant families to clinical bereavement support, peer support groups, and family services;
  • Prepare and submit accurate case notes and reports, ensuring all family-related interactions are documented and addressed appropriately.
  • Develop and execute support plans for families, enhancing their well-being and stability and integrating family goals.
  • Support the Behavioral Health Manager with cultivation and maintenance of strategic partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and key stakeholders. Leverage these relationships to enhance program resources and support networks.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and case conferences, one-on-one sessions, and maintain open communication lines within the team and the broader community.
  • Engage directly with families, conducting home visits and community interactions to assess needs and provide assistance.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, preferably in public health, human services, criminal justice, sociology, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of full-time experience as a case manager, preferably with large caseloads, preferably in a nonprofit social service setting.
  • Experience with delivering trauma-informed care and a deep understanding of its principles.
  • Experience working with evidence-based models is a plus
  • Skilled communicator able to liaise interdepartmentally and with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, case management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.

Salary: $37.36 - $ 39.56 per hour (approximately $68,000 - $72,000 annually) Functional Family Therapists - English & Bilingual (Atlas FFT): We are looking for candidates with a desire to implement a non-traditional therapeutic approach. Candidate should be resilient in their desire and attempt to connect with the most hard to reach members of the community. We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for social justice and is invested in utilizing their clinical skills, interpersonal skills, and lived experiences to make a lasting impact on the participants in ATLAS and the communities we serve. Responsibilities
  • Attend all appropriate trainings and consultations for the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model.
  • Provide home-based clinical treatment with adherence to the FFT model.
  • Conduct assessments, including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and developing an analysis of the fit problem behaviors within the ecological context.
  • Engage youth, primary caregiver, and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with FFT model Analytic Process.
  • Complete all progress notes, opening and closing of cases and any other reporting/case management requirements in a timely and accurate fashion. When required, submit progress reports to the court or other stakeholders.
  • Carry an active case load of 10 participants/families.
  • Participate in community engagement efforts in partnership with ATLAS, external partners, and the agency.
  • Attend all required trainings.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families to encourage their participation in therapy.
  • Address any barriers to treatment and work to ensure consistent participant involvement.
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of families within the service system.
  • Work to influence policy and practice changes that benefit families in therapy.
  • Participate in ongoing discussions related to the identities, social constructs, and systemic oppression of oneself and the communities we serve. Consider and assess for the impact of racial and generational trauma, systemic oppression and survival on the presence of community violence and criminality.
  • Other duties as assigned by the FFT Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate must have a passion and an active drive to dismantle current systems of oppression that have historically caused harm within NYC's communities of color.
  • A master's degree in social work, or another field in which community, mental health, public health and sociology are at the core of the program, is preferred.
  • Some experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Competency in serving LGBTQIA+ identities is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to make connections between the experiences of our families and the impact of systemic oppression.
  • Commitment to a strengths-based perspective and helping families identify and access their internal and external resources as a path to growth and change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; an ability to connect with, support, and understand others.
  • Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits for best practice. Salary: $70,000-75,000
