Business Unit: Legal & Compliance (L&C) Job Title: L&C - Fund Formation Attorney, Assistant Vice President Job Description: The attorney would be a part of a small and specially dedicated centralized fund formation legal team within Blackstone and would: Serve as one of the main point persons regarding advice on fund formation legal matters throughout all stages for fundraising across most of Blackstones fund products Assist and coordinate with outside counsel and business groups on legal matters relating to capital formation / fundraising and fund related issues with respect to investments Interact closely with Institutional Client Solutions, business teams and L&C Participate in structuring new products and other related product development initiatives Assist in updating and revising of investment vehicles offering materials Assist in the review of investor communications and responses to investor inquiries Assist investment and business groups in structuring and facilitating new investments in various parts of capital structure Qualifications: 3+ years of experience practicing fund formation law In-house fund formation lawyer or from a law firm with a fund formation practice Must have technical experience and fundamental understanding of closed end private funds Experience with open ended private funds is not required but would be very helpful Experience drafting fund documentation This role requires someone to be an issue spotter, practical thinker and problem solver Desire to work as part of a collaborative team and willingness to embrace a variety of issues The duties and responsibilities described here are not exhaustive and additional assignments, duties, or responsibilities may be required of this position. Expected annual base salary range: $135,000 - $185,000 Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables. Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
