A top law firm is looking for an Mid level attorney with defense experience in Manhattan, NY.
- The firm's main practice areas include maritime and admiralty law, insurance defense, construction law, general liability, and insurance coverage.
- The firm is seeking an associate who will be responsible for handling all aspects of pre-trial litigation in New York state and federal courts.
- Responsible for developing the cases, analyzing risk, and working toward resolution.
- The firm aims to have associates gain trial experience on their cases.
- Handle, among other tasks: pleadings and discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing motions and appeals; communicating with clients; communicating with opposing counsel; and communicating with experts.
Qualifications :
- Must have strong organizational, research, and writing skills, and be able to independently handle a high level of responsibility.
- Trial experience is a plus. Associates are expected to bill a minimum of 1900 hours per year.
- Must be admitted in New York State.
- Additional admissions are a plus.
- The firm presently requires attorneys and staff to be present in the office 4 days per week, either Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday.
