We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Landlord/Tenant Litigation Attorney with extensive experience handling disputes in Housing and Supreme Courts.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully managing landlord/tenant disputes for sophisticated clients, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and the ability to draft persuasive legal documents. Trial and appellate experience is a plus, and candidates should also have a desire to participate in marketing activities and to develop deep relationships with prospective and active clients.

Compensation is based on the candidate's experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit their resume and salary expectations promptly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and draft legal documents, including non-payment and holdover notices, pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Handle complex commercial and residential real estate litigation.
  • Represent landlords, developers, managing agents, investors, and condominium boards in Housing Court and Supreme Court.
  • Attend court appearances, depositions, argue motions, and conduct trials.
  • Participate in marketing activities, including drafting articles and publications.
  • Adhere to all firm policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned on an as-needed basis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High degree of academic achievement with a law degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Active New York State Bar license in good standing.
  • 4+ years of Landlord/Tenant litigation experience.
  • Experience in Housing Court and Supreme Court is required.
  • Trial and appellate experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and negotiation skills.
  • Portable book of business is a plus but not required.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to tackle all assigned tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal software.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and pride in delivering quality work.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to years of experience involving these roles and responsibilities, portable book of business, years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
