Job Description:

The Audit Director, US Tech – Corporate Functions is responsible for overseeing, planning, and executing the audit activities for application technology coverage of corporate areas that include Financial Crimes, Compliance, Finance, Treasury, Risk, HR, Marketing for all TD Bank US Holdings segments and entities.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required.
  • Designs, plans & executes Audit Plan for coverage of technology and business risks associated with US applications and automated controls for corporate areas that include Financial Crimes, Compliance, Finance, Treasury, Risk, HR, Marketing.
  • Ensures appropriate applications technology and data coverage of the US, including involvement in other audits to ensure US coverage is adequately provided.
  • Works with the enterprise audit teams to ensure alignment where applicable.
  • Responsible for the broader Division mandate to contribute to a strong control culture.
  • Develops & maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Staffs the function with appropriately skilled individuals and augments with SMEs where necessary.
  • Attracts, develops, and retains key talent, making audit a great place to work.
  • Develops a risk-based Audit Plan & delivers the plan evenly over the course of the year.
  • Ensures quality of work meets division standards.
  • Identifies all significant control gaps in areas we audit.
  • Provides clear, comprehensive, and timely reporting on significant control matters.
  • Manages financial budget within plan and risk.

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred.
  • Professional Accreditation such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
  • 12+ years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of and proficiency with US regulatory requirements and expectations related to technology and data.
  • Previous experience establishing a best-in-class technology audit team in a large complex financial institution.
  • Familiarity with application processing, business processes, and application controls related to financial crimes (e.g. AML, sanctions), compliance, finance, treasury, liquidity, risk management.
  • Familiarity with enterprise programming languages (e.g. Java), scripting, CI/CD, Microsoft Azure, web application architecture, data analytics is a plus.
  • Strong people management skills with demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams.
  • Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability in leveraging deep subject matter expertise to align teams to a central vision.
  • Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and partnership skills.
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills; able to make things happen through the use of positive influence.
  • Expertise in working effectively in teams.
