. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 ½ months, 187 days, 7 hours 20 minutes per day REQUIREMENTS:
- Certification from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Classroom experience is desirable
- In addition to certification credentials, teachers should have poise, and interest in children, a sense of responsibility, the ability to work with others, and the ability to adapt to any reasonable pattern of behavior accepted by the community for professional persons
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows a continuous program of curricular development
- Is aware of new materials, methodologies, philosophies, and innovations, using those that suit the needs of the individual student.
- Using building regulations as a guideline develops and implements rules for student classroom behavior that are fair.
- Establishes objectives for lessons and communicates those objectives to students.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Recognizes the learning abilities and/or disabilities of students and adjusts teaching techniques.
- Seeks assistance from the district or other specialists when a learning or behavior problem becomes evident.
- Consult with parents and other involved personnel concerning each student's intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development.
