Responsibilities
  • Greets and assists customers by phone and in-person.
  • Calls to update customers on the status of their vehicle.
  • Prepares various reports and updates.
  • Assists Production and Shop Manager.
  • Handles incoming phone traffic in a courteous and polite manner.
  • Establish the purpose of incoming calls; question the caller and handle as many of the questions and situations as possible. Forward calls to the appropriate staff member whenever necessary. Prepare written notes and forward to appropriate staff members.
  • Greet persons visiting your company immediately upon entering the office.
  • Notify the estimator of the customer's needs, and then enter all additional customer information data into the computer.
  • Thoroughly inspects and checks in vehicles.
  • Assist the sales staff with estimate follow-up calls to capture those jobs that were not signed on the initial visit.
  • When a customer calls inquiring about a job in process, try to answer any questions yourself or, if necessary, contact the production manager or the estimator for additional information.
  • Regulate and control the input and output of vehicles.
  • Promptly notify customers with an update on the status of their vehicle such as changes, delays, or additional work needed.
  • If the customer has a problem or a complaint, try and handle the situation yourself, but if you need assistance, contact the appropriate person.
  • When customers arrive to pick up their vehicles, explain the items contained in their paperwork packet (i.e., warranty, reply card, final bill, paint care instructions, etc.)
  • Make every effort to ensure that all customers and prospective clients are treated in a manner that makes them feel comfortable and important.
  • Give special attention to repeat repairs to ensure the situation is corrected.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Vehicle maintenance experience
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with assembly processes
  • Knowledge of auto estimating and painting techniques
  • Prior experience in automotive repair and maintenance
  • Dealership experience and MIG welding skills are a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
