Our technicians work with mostly new sheet metal in an air-conditioned environment in a state-of-the-art shop. Instead of working with the same basic vehicles every day like in the collision environment, our team brings hot rod dreams to life. The talent of our employees shows in the high-end work they produce.Duties and Responsibilities
- Proficient in high level blocking of body filler, sanding, and primer application.
- Light body repair to newly manufactured aftermarket body panels.
- Remove and install aftermarket body panels (doors, hood, tailgate etc.).
- Experience in stripping, straightening, along with accurately gapping body panels.
- Experience in short/long blocking, and application of body fillers.
- Understanding the taping/masking process to protect adjacent panels of overspray.
- Efficient and cost-effective manner when using all materials to maintain company standards.
- Assisting other technicians in the completion of their prepping procedures when needed to keep the line moving and meet deadlines.
- Assisting painting team with everyday duties including lifting, preparing, sanding, taping, masking & cleaning of vehicles prior to being moved into the booth.
- Fulfill all paint preparation processes for vehicles according to work order.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficiently organized workstation.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working independently.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work daily.
- Adhere to all health regulations and utilize all safety equipment.
- Ability to maintain professional communications with managers, coworkers, and vendors.
- Dependability and work ethic to show up every day on time.
- Ability to work 7am-6pm Monday-Friday with overtime on evenings or weekends as needed
- Ability to maintain a positive, team atmosphere.
- Pre-employment drug screening is required
- Must have own tools.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in automotive collision or similar environment
Physical Demands (to include but not limited to)
- Must be able to lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment
- Frequent standing, sitting, and walking for long periods of time.
- Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting.
- Ability to work in hot or cold temperatures for long periods of time.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle.
