Also, performs data entry, scheduling, and other administrative duties using a variety of computer systems. Essential Functions•Conducts physical inventories•Updates Vendor Master database by maintaining records of all changes•Monitors the economic Order Quantity (EOQ)/safety stock level•Verifies that all parts and related charges are on the repair orders•Requests, orders, creates stock numbers and description of new parts added, receives, logs in, verifies codes and issues parts using the WAM and P2P/ORACLE EBS computer systems•Orders materials and supplies including calling vendor for pricing, and accounts for the issuance and/or disposal of hazardous materials and products, in accordance with Federal and/or state regulations•Prepares, generates, and analyzes a variety of reports and makes recommendations to improve the efficient operation of the garage•Interacts with vendors, contractors, and other Commission staff•Accounts for contract balances on materials contracts•Researches data to assist in specification formulation•Monitors deliveries of items for contract compliance•Maintains records of contractor performance• Drives a vehicle to conduct WSSC Water businessOther Functions•May conduct light repair work on vehicles or equipment•Performs other related duties, as required.Work Environment And Physical Demands Professional auto and equipment garageRequired Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities•Good knowledge of materials and parts (necessary to support vehicle and equipment technicians)•Knowledge of hazardous material handling and record keeping procedures•Ability to deal courteously and effectively with vendors and Commission staff•Ability to make decisions and to work with a minimum of supervision•Ability to maintain inventory and contract records and to prepare reports from such records.Minimum Education, Experience Requirements•High School diploma (or equivalent)•5+ years experience in automotive inventory control Additional Requirements•Possession of a valid driver's license with no more than 4 points and the ability to obtain a WSSC Water driver's permit within 90 days of hire or transfer•Completion of the WSSC Water Financial Disclosure statement within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter.Preferences•Experience in the use of personal computers or terminal systems•Experience working in a fleet management environment•Experience with Excel and MS Word•Class B or C underground storage tank certificationSalary $23.21-$39.44Posting Detail Information EEO Statement AN EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERIt is the policy of the Commission to select new employees and to promote current employees without regard to race, sexual orientation, sex, religion, national origin, marital status, or handicap.
