Auto Parts Manager - $80,000 to $100,000 AnnuallyJob Description:We are seeking an experienced and motivated Parts Manager to join our team in Rapid City, South Dakota. The Parts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the parts department, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This role involves managing inventory, supervising staff, and developing strategies to meet sales and profit goals.Pay: $80,000 - $100,000 annually (Based on experience)Key Responsibilities:1. Assist in developing annual objectives for the parts department, including customer service, inventory levels, turnover rates, sales goals, and profits.2. Ensure authorized plans and programs are implemented, focusing on inventory levels, warranty, customer satisfaction, service, and convenience.3. Maintain adequate manpower to manage records, storage facilities, packaging, deliveries, and parts sales. Maintain a display area.4. Recruit, hire, and train department personnel. Organize and conduct training programs for parts personnel, either as a department functionor in conjunction with manufacturer's representatives. Maintain housekeeping discipline.5. Evaluate the performance of parts department personnel and make recommendations regarding salary levels and compensation plans.6. Maintain proper records, submit required reports, check customer credit status, and handle other administrative tasks as required by management.7. Recommend stocking and sale of re-manufactured, used, or exchange parts. Keep the sales department and customers informed about suchprograms; analyze monthly emergency purchases.8. Prepare and recommend plans for expansion. Make necessary purchases of outside supplies and maintenance equipment.9. Ensure parts literature, instruction sheets, price sheets, reference materials, promotional materials, etc., are properly maintained, up-to-date, and available for all items supplied to the trade.10. Participate actively in company sales and service meetings; promote and sell parts through every possible means. Maintain customer contacts and constantly evaluate the degree of parts service offered.11. Study operating costs, including delivery charges and rates, paperwork, etc.Qualifications:•Five years' experience in parts management or similar experience within the heavy equipment industry.•Demonstrated understanding of the financial aspects of parts management.•Demonstrated understanding of inventory control theory.•Computer literacy, including business operating systems, Excel, Word, Internet, Outlook, and other programs.•Effective communication skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications:•Ability to develop and achieve annual objectives for the parts department.•Strong organizational and leadership skills.•Ability to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and service.•Experience in recruiting, hiring, and training personnel.•Ability to evaluate performance and make recommendations for improvement.•Knowledge of administrative tasks and record-keeping.•Ability to recommend and manage inventory programs.•Experience in planning for expansion and making necessary purchases.•Ability to maintain and update parts literature and promotional materials.•Active participation in sales and service meetings.Employee Value Proposition (EVP):•Work in a smaller shop with room for expansion.•Manage a team of about 3 to 4 parts/warehouse personnel.•Opportunity to work closely with the current Parts Manager, who is retiring in 2025, ensuring a smooth transition.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00Benefits:A great benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision and 401KPaid time offCompany paid life insurance and short-term disabilityStability - We are growing!About the company: Diesel Machinery, Inc.
