Job Title Automotive Service Technician Colony Tire is currently seeking a full time Automotive Service Technician to join our team Our technicians work for competitive pay in a fast paced environment Full benefit package offered including Medical Dental Vision 401k Profit Sharing paid holidays vacation time company paid life insurance and short term disability Summary Employee will be required to perform tire and auto related service as well as other duties as assigned by the manager Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The requirements listed below are representative of the competencies and or ability required Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Follow established procedures to inspect tires wheels and vehicles before and after serviceReview work orders and discuss work with supervisorsDocument work performed accurately and according to company policyRaise vehicles using hydraulic jacks andor automotive liftsUnbolt and re bolt wheels fromto vehicles using lug wrenches and other hand and power toolsMount and dismount tires onto wheelsIdentify and inflate tires correctly for the size and plyPlace wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheelsReplace valve stems and remove puncturing objectsRotate tires to different positions on vehiclesPerform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as but not limited to oil changes and lubricationsRoad test cars as directed by managementPull vehicles in and out of shop safelyKnowledge Skills and Abilities Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs uses repair and maintenanceOperation and Control Controlling operations of equipment or systemsActive Listening Giving full attention to what other people are saying taking time to understand the points being made asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate timesOperation Monitoring watching gauges dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properlyTime Management Managing ones own timeExtent Flexibility the ability to bend stretch twist or reach with you body arms andor legsStatic Strength the ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift push pull or carry objectsKnowledge of commonly used tools Ability to recognize and used a variety of tools including but not limited to power tools such as pneumatic wrenches machine tools such as lathes and grinning machines jack sand hoists and common hand toolsOperating Vehicles Mechanized Devices or Equipment Running maneuvering navigating or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment such as forklifts or passenger vehiclesPerforming General Physical Activities Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing lifting balancing walking stooping and handling or materialsInspecting Equipment Structures or Material Inspecting equipment structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defectsMaking Decisions and Solving Problems Analyzing information and evaluation results to choose the best solution and solve problemsWork Styles Attention to Detail Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasksDependability Job requires being reliable responsible and dependable and fulfilling obligationsCooperation Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good natured cooperative attitudeIndependence Job requires guiding oneself with little or no supervision and depending on oneself to get things doneIntegrity Job requires treating people with respect keeping commitments working ethically and upholding organizational valuesStress Tolerance Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situationsWork Environment While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts;
