Job Description:

Role Overview

We are looking for an Automated Equipment Mechanic (AEM) to support the Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY.

Responsibilities:

* AEM skilled trade to provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install, and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pneumatics, hydraulics, controls (PLC's), and electrical components)

* Ability to fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment

* Some experience or expertise in piping, HVAC equipment and controls

* Ability to achieve a high level of expertise of chemical process equipment for effective troubleshooting and equipment repair

* Execute preventive maintenance program

* Calibrate, alignment and make adjustments with test equipment and production equipment

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools

Qualifications include:

* HS diploma

* Formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and/or AEM training and demonstrated experience

* Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment

* Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills

* Able to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings

* Able to read PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems

* Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

* Excellent safety record - places safety and environment as top priority in all work

* Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out

* Understanding of electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)

* Good communication skills - daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed

* Good team player - willing be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed

Minimum Education Level and Experience:

2-year schooling and/or 5 plus years of demonstrated experience

Work Schedule:

* Work schedule will be days 6am to 230PM
