Job Description:
As a Tesla Automated Systems Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of utility equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber plant operations engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime and eliminate wasteful spending.This is a physically demanding job working in tight spaces, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day. In addition, the technician may wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or from a suspended position. Automated System Technicians will lift up to 50 lbs. and utilize specialized tools that require the user to listen and comprehend. Additionally, technicians will use varying hand and power tools as needed.* Document equipment condition using PDM tools* Patrol facility with tools that detect air water and gas leaks* Complete corrective work orders to address defects on equipment* Modify assets per engineering guidance to improve performance, longevity, reliability* Integrate instruments to new and existing systems for engineering to document usage and waste* Supplement existing teams around the central valley for project installation and commissioning support* Requisition parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms as needed* Proficient with hydraulic system operations* Advanced computer skills (able to use job-specific PC applications and coach other users)* Proficient with pneumatics-solenoid valves, actuator and control operations and can read schematics* Ability to analyze problems and error conditions, identify root causes, and implement viable long-term solutions* Advanced electrical skills, able to diagnose issues, able to use a schematic diagram to troubleshoot electrical systems* Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
