Overview:To accomplish corporate goals, this position will support capital, set and implement OT network infrastructure strategies, set automation and controls (A&C) strategies, function as a corporate A&C SME. Provide leadership to site A&C engineers to ensure alignment across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

  • Function as a corporate SME supporting individual site automation and controls engineers. Support sites on projects where A&C resources are limited.
  • Develop Operational Technology architecture strategy and implement strategy across the Marzetti Manufacturing network.
  • Develop A&Cs strategies and standards to support current and future capital projects.
  • Function as a technical resource for corporate driven capital projects supporting engineering project managers.
  • Represent the engineering and manufacturing network as a liaison with the Marzetti IT team.
  • Drive digital transformation projects which include automated OEE measurement, MES standards, and MES implementation
  • Remain current on A&Cs, MES, and OT network standards. Drive changes in the organization to help increase security, improve A&Cs, and measure operational performance.
  • Manage contractors and vendors to ensure flawless execution and vertical startup on all assigned projects.
  • Leverage company resources to support corporate driven initiatives by providing excellence service and leadership.
  • Provide mentorship and training to raise the technical expertise across the organization.
  • Support cost optimization projects and drive corporate cost savings initiatives.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Action oriented individual with a result driven mindset.
  • Able to manage complex projects and multiple projects across several manufacturing sites.
  • Must be able to engage and communicate effectively, especially when working alongside of the manufacturing network.
  • Creates a collaborative culture through trust and ethical interactions that embodies the Marzetti motto of The better food company
  • CPG, nutritional, or food manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the A&Cs area
  • Skilled in Rockwell PLC platform programming, Operation Technology architecture, MES systems, data historians, and system integration.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and team development skills.
  • IT skills are not necessary but would aid in job success.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience serving as an Automation and Controls engineer supporting capital projects, building OT networks, and implementing MES/data historian systems.
  • Must be open to tavel - 45%

Working Conditions/Environment:

Works in an office and manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, hear, sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend while moving about the facility. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the office is moderate and loud in the plant. Earplugs, hairnets, beardnets (if facial hair exists), safety glasses and slip-resistant /steel-toe shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
