Basic Qualifications:* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution required.* Must be able to provide documentation in the original form establishing both your identity and your employment eligibility in the U.S.* This position entails access to export-controlled items you must be able to lawfully obtain access to such items.Preferred Qualifications:* 3+ years' experience working with controls/programming robotics.* Experience with Motoman and/or Fanuc robots* Offline programming experience.* Familiarity with fixture design for implementation in a robotic cell is beneficial.* Prior exposure / knowledge of statistical analysis* Green Belt certification in Six Sigma is preferred.Automation EngineerThis opening is with Howmet Aerospace - a world leader in investment casting of super-alloys, aluminum, and titanium primarily for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbine markets. Responsibilities include working with vendors and design teams, follow through during the build phase, and implementation of this equipment in production before handing it off to the manufacturing team.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:* Design/maintenance of robotic programs used throughout HHC Monoshell/Wax manufacturing process.* Design and program management of fixtures used within the robotic processes.* Support/train manufacturing operators on the use of automation within the process.* Documentation of all changes to production programs for future correlation to downstream process outputs.* Determination of key input variables within the automation process to ensure that process is robust against minor variations in casting dimensions.* Determination/implementation of key output variables to validate that critical functions within a program/piece have completed successfully before running additional product.* Determination of key input variables to validate sand towers align with Process Owner distribution/uniformity levels* Support Manufacturing/Process owner in cross functional scrap initiativesOther duties as assigned.
