As part of our OEM team, you'll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles the world expects from us. Position Description:
* Lead problem-solving to assist plants and implementation teams in resolving tooling, equipment, and conveyor performance issues and downtime on high-volume automated machining systems.
* Coordinate resources to find root causes and fixes, manage and break down problems into items that can be validated. Determine proper validation methods
* Handle setup and maintenance of industrial barcode printers
* Utilize sound knowledge design and implement vision control systems. Familiar with different types of vision cameras and their programing software. Continuously evaluate equipment for improvement in quality and delivery
* Use FIS plant monitoring software to review cycle times of equipment, review and follow up project installations
* Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements
* Update program backups for machinery and automation
* Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots
* As part of a team, review risk assessments and evaluate equipment safety
* Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians
* Read and modify electrical prints and schematics, Auto CAD
* Maintain familiarity with OA, CPN/MPN networks, and communication protocols for connecting to wireless and wired networks
* Manage installation and maintenance of virus protection software for controls network PCs, perform PC backup disc images and installation of communication and firmware and controls software
* Work overtime and weekends as needed
Experience Required:
* 2 or more years of Controls Engineering experience (internship and coop experience will be considered)
* Electrical background (electrician or technician) preferred
* Familiar with PLC/CNC (Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal), VFD, Servo (Siemens 840D Powerline and 840D Solutionline), Profinet, ABB and FANUC Robots
* Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, modify electrical schematics, and use AutoCAD
* Validated ability to troubleshoot equipment and continuously evaluate for process improvements
* Experience with conveyor system programming and overhead Gantry
* Solid understanding of networking to include DH+, Ethernet and remote IO
* Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
* Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experience
* Understanding of 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC processes
* Familiar with TQM and Kaizen methods
* One or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
* Knowledge of simulation modeling and visual factory management preferred
Education Required:
* High School Diploma
* Bachelor's Degree
