Job Summary:

We're seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing automation systems to support our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure the efficiency and quality of automation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Automation Design and Development

  • Develop and implement subassemblies and systems such as end-of-arm tooling, automated conveyors, and fixtures.
  • Prototype and refine automation systems to improve production capabilities.

System Optimization and Maintenance

  • Conduct trials of new automation systems, ensuring seamless integration into production lines.
  • Monitor and evaluate automation performance during production runs to ensure efficiency and address any issues promptly.

Project Management

  • Lead and manage automation projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Production and Quality teams to enhance existing automation processes.
  • Collaborate with Sales to develop accurate quotes and technical support for new automation opportunities.
  • Work closely with Mold Engineers and Cell Managers to specify and procure essential equipment like mold robots and conveyor systems.

Daily Operations Support

  • Collaborate with the automation team to achieve daily production goals and resolve any operational challenges.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED with one of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree with 1+ year of manufacturing experience.
  • Associate degree with 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mold drawings.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Capability to work independently and apply logical or scientific thinking to complex problems.
  • Proficient in mathematics, including working with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in automation design and troubleshooting.
