Compensation Range: $70,000 – $85,000 | Based on experience

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled individual for the role of Associate Automation Engineer. This position is designed to support both existing and new capital automation projects, focusing on the implementation and development of PLC and HMI automated control system platforms. Under the guidance and mentorship of the automation manager, you will have the opportunity to grow and contribute to impactful projects within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and document Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs for industrial control systems.
  • Create and interpret logic flow diagrams to implement program design, simulation, testing, acceptance, and start-up processes.
  • Program Human Machine Interface (HMI) graphic screens for industrial automation projects.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and deliver continuous improvements for automated control systems.
  • Support various communication protocols, including wired, wireless, Ethernet, CAN, Modbus, and TCP/IP.
  • Assist with the development and configuration of computer hardware to support program execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the electrical or process control environment.
  • Proven expertise in PLC logic and programming, as well as HMI systems and related hardware/software.
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and P&ID drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • MSHA safety certification is preferred but not required (training provided if needed).
