SUMMARYThe Automation Engineering Supervisor leads a team responsible for developing tooling, equipment, software and technology to enable the business to achieve greater levels of capability and productivity. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manages day to day team projects and workload to ensure business priorities are in alignment with team activities.
- Leverages Engineering principles and continuous improvement methodologies to maximize team results and ensure team output meets the needs of internal stakeholders.
- Leads cross-functional project management of Engineering projects - including but not limited to capital equipment, problem solving, new product/process/tooling/software development, cost savings, customer related programs.
- Partners with Human Resources to recruit and hire technical staff.
- Hires, trains, develops, manages performance of staff.
- Participates in Engineering activities (design, analysis, process development etc.) as required to support plant objectives.
- Works with Purchasing to develop sources for materials used in designs as well as OEMs.
- Lead efforts in DFM review on new projects to ensure new products are launched with lean methodology.
