As a Field Service Specialist, you will provide advisory services to customers who own Valmet Quality Control and Distributed Contral Systems. In this role you will 1. Provide customer support for QCS and DCS systems installed in Pulp & Paper manufacturing process. 2. Carry out service calls on a preventative and reactive basis as required, undertaking service and repair of products and systems to deliver against customers' requirements. 3. Keep accurate records regarding job progress, delays, problems, deliveries, changes, extras, and engineering and fabrication errors. 4. Report back on the completed service outlining the activities carried out, faults found and any future recommendations for improving the service offering. 5. Train customer staff in methods to maintain and repair the equipment, to ensure knowledge is transferred. 6. Conduct audits at customer sites to record and analyze process improvement opportunities. Work complexity and business impact: Works independently to complete given tasks and activities, solving daily basic technical service issues. Job is mainly performed according to defined processes or work methods. Close supervision is provided when needed. Geographical scope: Skowhegan, Maine. Expectations The incumbent must meet one of these requirements: 1) 4+ Years experience in the field with instrumentation and electromechanics preferably in a pulp and paper manufacturing environment. 2) A technical school diploma in instrumentation, electromechanics, or mechatronics. 3) A University bachelor's degree in Electro-Mechanical or similar engineering. To be successful in this role, you must be electro-mechanically inclined, computer-based system literate, self-guided, and have a strong work ethic. This position requires a valid driver's license. Overnight travel will be required within an assigned area. Ideal candidates will possess experience with the following: ABB, Measurex and or Valmet QCS. Instrumentation and controls tuning background. Understanding of paper machines paper making process. Working knowledge of Windows operating system and Office Products. Interpersonal skills and ability to interact with confidence at all organizational levels. Ability to use hand tools. Strong troubleshooting skills.
