JOB SUMMARY
Automation Specialists on our Controls service team will be required to test, validate, and troubleshoot complex building automation and control systems. Systems consist of controllers, sensors, controlled and networked end devices, and factory equipment microprocessor controls. Specialists should have a solid working knowledge of various control system types and are expected to respond in person to various system service outages, operational failures, network failures, electronics issues, etc. The candidate will need a working knowledge of personal/server computing platforms and IT networks.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage and respond to service calls in a timely fashion.
Perform service contract preventative maintenance, systems diagnostics, and calibration of controls system components.
Advanced capabilities in troubleshooting controls and automation system failures and recommending and/or carrying out corrective measures.
Set up and maintain system trend logs needed for diagnostics and repairs.
Perform controls system database maintenance and back-up/restore functions as needed.
Thorough working knowledge of sensor troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, digital metering, and calibration equipment.
Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, engineered drawings, and schematics.
Ability to interpret and implement complex written sequences of operations or other statements of system design intent.
Ability to maintain and present a professional onsite presence in the field.
Must adhere to all McKenneys cyber security policies and best practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
HS Diploma or GED
Mechanical Systems knowledge
5 years experience working in a technician role for a systems manufacturer or authorized systems representative/supplier/vendor on communicating or networked electronic systems
Specific experience with Tridium Niagara and one or more of the following: Distech, Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, Trane, and Honeywell.
Experience in HVAC Controls or Building Automation utilizing building open system standards.
Calendar and Schedule Management expertise
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree (or comparable vocational training) in a related field.
Advanced working knowledge in computer networking and client/server environments.
CompTIA certification.

Must have a professional appearance.
Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals
Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed and determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.
Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software
Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work well as part of a team and independently
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
Work environment involves some exposure to construction, mechanical, and electrical-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive standing and walking.
Work requires local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations.
Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and scaffolds and to negotiate work areas under construction.
