The Sr. Design Engineer is responsible for the design, programming, and implementation of various control and automation systems. This role also includes providing technical support to sales teams, customers, and internal product groups.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Create electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and drawings using AutoCAD™.
- Interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic design drawings to determine electrical requirements.
- Design 3D models using SolidWorks.
- Develop logic designs with Omron™ and Unitronics™ PLCs and HMI units.
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for various projects.
- Power up electrical systems and configure hardware based on application specifications.
- Ensure quality control by reviewing work from assemblers and technicians, addressing any issues during assembly.
- Provide sales support, including:
- Collaborating with Sales Engineers for customer application support and quote preparation.
- Generating conceptual circuit designs and quotes.
- Selecting and recommending product components.
- Troubleshooting system circuits and major components.
- Assisting customers with circuit and system design needs.
- Serve as a technical advisor, providing direct support to customers via phone, answering questions, and resolving technical issues.
- Work with supplier technical personnel to gather and deliver accurate information to both internal teams and external customers.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with hands-on experience in industrial automation, electrical design, and PLC programming/troubleshooting.
- Expertise in designing pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
- Proficient in electrical circuit design.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of motivating teams and achieving results through others.
- Strong aptitude for both electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to apply advanced fluid power, electrical, and electronic technologies.
- Skilled in AutoCAD™ and SolidWorks™.
- Knowledgeable of industry standards such as NEC, ASME, UL, and CE.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, sales teams, and customer service personnel, focusing on resolving technical challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, with a methodical, detail-oriented approach to ensure clear communication across teams and stakeholders.
