(based on experience) Sterling Engineering is looking for an Automation Technician for a leading rigid plastic manufacturer in Itasca, IL . This opportunity is with with a company the provides phenomenal benefits! Job Duties:
- Conducts, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment issues.
- Develops and implements preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
- Manages repair and overhaul processes.
- Designs and integrates automated quality inspection systems.
- Provides hands-on technical assistance.
- Troubleshoots pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and programming issues.
- Identifies and interacts with vendors for equipment replacement or improvement.
- Works on new product/equipment installations and commissioning.
- Develops training materials and work instructions.
Qualifications:
- AAS in Electrical or Computer Technology or 5 years of manufacturing experience in controls/automation.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware).
- Experience with HMI touch screen applications and programming.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
