CES/AWS is looking for an Automation Technician

Location: Arden, NC

Shift: 3rd Shift (11 PM - 7 AM)

Compensation: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour (depending on experience)

This is a direct hire position with a full benefits package.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician with experience in a high-volume industrial manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing automated machines. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in PLCs, HMIs, robotics, automation, and control system design, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on robotic production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain robotic and automated equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on various robotic production machines.
  • Assist in line automation and equipment realignment to improve product flow and efficiency.
  • Interpret and work from electrical and electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Assess the condition of mechanical, electrical, or automation equipment and provide repair or replacement recommendations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and architects, providing technical support and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in automation technology through self-directed learning, seminars, and conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Technical College or University degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with robotic cells or standalone robotic stations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC and robotic repair/programming.
  • Understanding of basic control systems and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical, electronics, and automation systems, including sensors, drives, and actuators.
  • Ability to evaluate damaged equipment and make repair recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley Logix 5000, Studio 5000).
  • Experience with Robotics software (ABB, Fanuc, Kuka).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
